Who Is Izmi?

British mum of two Emily Williamson, an experienced Sling Librarian, Carrying Consultant and Trainer

Emily struggled when using baby carriers with her first child so began to research alternatives. She soon became fascinated in the mechanics of carriers. This passion became a full-time job when she qualified as a Carrying Consultant and set up a Sling Library.

Emily has been working directly with parents for a decade, offering advice and using hundreds of different wraps and carriers. She has taken onboard all of the questions and concerns from real parents and came up with her own solution. Izmi.

We have a unique, personal connection to the experience of carrying, making carriers, and to the experiences of the range of different people who use our products. Izmi is born of a genuine passion to find ways to make life as a parent feel simpler.

Why is Izmi Different?

The Izmi Baby Wrap uses a high-quality two-way stretch cotton-elastane material.

This means that your baby is secure yet never restricted when being carried. Allowing them to suck their hand and rub their face if needed.

The Izmi Essential Wrap has all the features of the award-winning Izmi Bamboo Wrap, with a more economical design.

The new soft 95% cotton material is gentle on the skin, with the 5% elastane ensuring the optimum level of elasticity to keep your baby safe and secure. Weight distributing straps can be spread wide to help distribute baby’s weight evenly and reduce pressure on the wearers back.

The UK designed Izmi Essential Wrap still offers two carrying positions and can also be worn whilst breastfeeding for additional support. Little one’s love being close to their parents and cuddles, with the Izmi Wrap you are close to your baby but remain hands-free!

Use Izmi from Day One

The Izmi Wrap can be used from newborn (2.3kg- 9kg) for complete carrying freedom. It has been designed to adapt to both you and your baby, giving you a snug and supportive fit, which ensures your baby is both safe and comfortable. Additional head support is included by using one of the shoulder straps to act as a stabiliser.

Hands-Free Carrying

Both front carry and hip carry can be easily achieved by following our intuitive instruction manual, additionally we have several instruction videos online. The Izmi Essential Wrap can also be used as a breastfeeding support, please note that this is not a hands-free carrying position, but instead offers additional help when breastfeeding your little one.

Natural Stretch Cotton

The Izmi wrap is available in two variations of contemporary grey. This non-toxic material is ideal for all temperatures, helping keep you and your baby cool on a hot summer day and provide insulation on a cold winter day. Cotton is also a natural fibre which is softer on the skin than synthetic fibres such as polyester and acrylic, which can contain various additional chemicals.

Safe and Secure

Recognised by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The Izmi Essential Wrap holds your baby securely in a hip-healthy position, with their knees higher than their bum in an “M” frog-like position. Always make sure that airways are not obstructed, and your baby’s spine is supported in an upright position.

Baby wearing doesn’t need to be difficult, the Izmi carrier is truly all inclusive for everyone.

The lightweight adjustable design makes the Izmi suitable for all shapes and sizes.

Even suitable for wheelchair users, and many people with other health conditions. Consult with a local sling librarian for more advice on how to safely carry your baby.
